update on our little princess

Well, we have made it to 28 weeks!! woohoo!! And I am feeling rather large haha.  I just have to say...I am absolutely LOVING feeling her move and kick me all day long. I am definitely going to miss those little flutters!

I think the last pic I posted was at 20 weeks, so here's an update at 28 weeks!

I had my 28 week appt this last week and failed my glucose test...booooo. So I have to go back on Feb 3 to have a 3 hour glucose test done. I hope I pass!! I don't want to have gestational diabetes. So we will see!

The past 8 weeks have just flown by!
She now is about 14 inches long, and weighs probably 2 or 2.5 pounds. Per my app haha.

-I swear she's going to be a gymnast because she sure does cartwheels all the time! She's definitely a mover. At our last ultrasound, the nurse said that she was really hyper! And it was funny because when she was detecting her heartbeat, she kicked the nurse's hand! it was so funny.
-I have been craving hashbrowns the past while. We have hashbrowns for dinner probably twice a week. And for some breakfasts :) haha
-I also crave marshmallows. super weird! but they are so good mmmm.
-She enjoys giving me heartburn. All day, every day. I have to take 2 heartburn pills a day or im miserable!
-Her favorite part of the day is when I'm sleeping.  haha. she often wakes me up in the middle of the night with a nice little kick to the bladder. Thanks sis.
-Lastly, I feel so grateful for her every day. Even though I can't tie my shoes, and I can hardly get out of bed, I love her already.  We are so anxious to meet her and see what she looks like!

We have a few names we love, but we want to see what she looks like before we pick her name :)

The Dr.'s have told us to prepare for an early delivery, so I think I'm going to stop working in March, unless she comes before that.  I hope she doesn't come TOO early! We are crossing our fingers she stays in there until March :)
We love you little miss sunshine!!

A new addition to the Fam

After searching for 6+ months for a pickup that was economically smart, and a good investment for us and our business, we found the one. And let me tell you- I am SO glad that we did. Because now I get my husband back hahaha.  He would search like 12 hours a day every day for 6 months just to find the perfect truck for us.  So I'm glad I have him back :)

We actually found this pick up back in November in Idaho Falls. We went and test drove it and I LOVED IT!!! That's saying a lot because I do NOT like dodge. I hate the way that the front looks, and I just don't like them! haha but this one for some reason was a dream to drive, and the looks of it didn't bother me at all.

Well, the dealer was asking too much and we didn't want to pay as much as he was asking. So we set this pickup aside, and looked elsewhere.

2 months later we still had this pickup in the back of our heads, so Tanner called the dealer and they wheeled and dealed. We talked him down to a price that was in our price range, and whatdya know- IT WAS OURS!!!
We are stoked. And it get's 20 mpg instead of 8!

RIP Seth Potter!

On December 16, 2014 one of my all time favorite people passed away. Seth has always been a good family friend, and an even closer friend to me.  When I went to Europe with my dad, Seth and his brother Joe and I got really close, and hung out the whole time. Their laughs I beg to say are what got me laughing as hard and as loud as I do.

There's just something about Seth Potter that just brightens the room. I wish I could post a video on here of his laugh, but Blogger won't let me :(      Well most of you know my laugh- just imagine that times 10. Really. You couldn't NOT laugh when you were around him.  He had a way of making everyone feel loved, and like you were his best friend. Definitely a quality I want to have.

I could go on and on about how special of a person Seth was, but I won't. or I'll bawl.
He got in a motorcycle accident on the highway, and it wasn't looking good. He suffered severe brain trauma, and was in a coma for I think 8 days? The doctors wouldn't allow anyone to go in the room to see him, because it was that bad.

I felt very strongly that I should go to his funeral.  It was in Wyoming, and was a 6 hour drive. Tanner was so supportive and came with me. We made a fun road trip out of it :)  It was so good to see his family, and to just give them the biggest hug that I could. Even though things were so sensitive and tragic, they were still laughing their heads off through the line :)

It was very interesting to see Seth in his coffin.  It didn't look like him at all, and he was just lifeless.  They put so much make-up on him that he looked like a totally different person.  They had him dressed in his temple clothes, and he looked so peaceful.

Seth Potter-such a wonderful person. I'm sure God has things in store for him up in Heaven- probably to laugh and touch more people's lives on the other side :)
I will miss you Seth!!! Thanks for the memories you and I made together, and for touching SO many people's lives. You are loved!!

                                                                  Love you my friend!

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

So a little after Tanner and I moved into my parents ward, the bishopric came over and met with us. One of the callings they gave us was to be in charge of the Ward Christmas Party. AH! That's all that went through my brain haha. They told us we could pick whatever theme we wanted.  They gave us a committee of 2 young men, 2 young women, and another couple in the ward. We were just the head peeps in charge.  I didn't start planning it really until November. We had a few meeting with our committee.  Well, as Tanner and I were brainstorming theme ideas, we all know how much Tanner and I LOVE the grinch. We watch it like 10 times a year and quote it 12 months out of the year haha. So....we brought the Grinch theme up to our committee and everyone loved it!

So....Grinch it was.

Here I was, trying to think where to even start to plan a fun party for 350 people...I think I watched the Grinch like 5 times before any ideas started coming to me.

Not going to lie I was a little overwhelmed hahaha I had never planned a party this huge before, and it had been YEARS since I'd been to a ward christmas party to even get any ideas flowing.

I started looking at ideas of decorations on Pinterest, and from my mom, etc.  I ended up getting ornaments at the dollar store that were super cute and cheap. Walmart had cheap rolls of tulle, and I got 30 tablecloths from the dollar store. I ended up finding a lady on facebook that would make me a 5 ft tall Grinch! as tall as me! :)

Tanner and I came up with a theme that we thought was perfect:

I got an adorable sign that said that off of Amazon that we hung up.

I also made some blocks that I thought were so cute! They took forever but were worth it!
I was given quite the tight budget, so finding decorations, and food, and silverware, etc was tough! but we did it :)

Sadly. our committee wasn't very helpful which made it even more stressful for me. But...we did it anyway and we think it turned out to be pretty fun!

Here's some pictures of everything after we set it all up. Tanner and I had our friends set the tables and decorations up with us :)

We set up 30 tables, and 325 chairs.

We had fun games set up for little kids like Pin the Heart on Mr. Grinch, and coloring pages.

We also put up a photo booth! The adults loved that.

There was SO much more set up, but I got so busy that I forgot to get pics of everything. The best part and Im STILL mad at myself for not getting a picture, was the entry way. I LOVED IT!!!!

I had a square table set up by the door, with adorable green and red light up presents, with my GRINCH blocks, grinch trees that I made as well, and a drawing of Mr. Grinch poking his head through the door. oh it was so cute! I didn't get a picture but you can picture it in your head :)

We also got really lucky on the food part! We bought 10 hams, and had people sign up to bring 10 each of who hash, who pudding, grinch greens, and rare who roast beast! It turned out perfect, and we had ham left over!!!! woohoo!!! The bishopric told us that every year they've run out of food. So we were proud of ourselves hahaha. We also had a ugly sweater contest- that was a hit!! Adults went all out on that and loved it!  I asked a family in our ward to do the entertainment, and they also did a wonderful job! they were so funny and had everyone laughing!

Overall, Tanner and I had a lot of fun. It was super overwhelming for me, and being 21 weeks pregnant didn't help at all. I was on my feet from 8 in the morning, until 11 at night. With a 20 minute lunch break.  Let's just say when I got home, I took a looooong bath. My hip ended up going out, and m muscles were so sore! But- it was fun and worth it!

*Things I didn't do that I wish I would've:

-make sure you have a committee that is willing to help you with such a huge responsibility! We didn't really have this, and it made it 10 times harder.
-start planning a party this huge more than a month in advance!
-Asked more people in the ward to help me with set up, take down, serving, etc.
-Made Tanner help me more :)

*Things I did do to remember for next time
-delegate!! I ended up delegating a lot of responsibility towards the end. It helped me a ton!
- I can do hard things!!!
-be creative!

Overall, it was a great learning experience for me. looking back, I still can't believe I pulled off something that big and did a good job at it!!

Until next time...
hopefully not :)
