My best friend's a mom!

One of my best friends had a baby yesterday! I am so happy for her. They named her Brooklyn Judy Merrill. I went and saw her at the hospital last night and I bawled like a baby. It was just a bittersweet moment. She came straight from heaven and was so beautiful and pure. She has really dark hair just like Mitch. I can't wait to be Aunt Maddie to Brooklyn!  Love you bec- so happy for you and Mitch!

Pumpkin Carving!

We carved pumpkins at our house this year with some of our friends! We had a good time!

Happy 3 years to us!!!

I can't believe it's been 3 years since Tanner and I got married. It is SOOO weird. I feel like I've known Tanner forever- yet I feel like it hasn't been 3 years since we've been married. It's honestly gone by really fast.  We've definitely had our ups and downs the past 3 years- but I can honestly say that we've never been closer, and we've never been happier.  The trials we've had have really brought us closer together- it's been amazing. I love Tanner with my whole heart. He is so amazing. He makes me laugh so hard, harder than anyone else can, he's the hardest worker ever, he's attractive haha, he's a gentlemen, and there's lots more. I couldn't be more grateful for Tanner- he's the best husband I could ever ask for.

Our anniversary was on a Wednesday, so we didn't do much. I got off at 12:30, and met Tanner in Ashton to go fishing. I packed a little picnic, brought our fishing poles, and I packed some of the treats we had on our honeymoon :) we went on  hike which was HUGE by the way- I thought I was going to die. and...we didn't catch anything. it was still fun but we wanted to catch something so bad!! Starsky loved the water and got soaking wet and muddy.

We came home and just relaxed. I made a yummy dinner, we watched a movie, and went to bed early.  Tanner said he had something planned for the weekend.

Weekend came and Tan took me to Idaho Falls. We went to one of our favorite new restaurants...STOCKMANS! they have an all you can eat steak platter for $14.99 so we got that.  IT was so good.  We reminisced about 3 years ago, and had a really good conversation about the past 3 years. We went in a bunch of shops looking for things- didn't buy anything which was good! we were both so exhausted and tired haha.  We went to petco just to see what fun things we could get for starsky. We found a......

HALLOWEEN COSTUME!

I know, I know it sounds ridiculous. but we saw it and we laughed so hard. we couldn't not get it. It fit his personality perfect....

A lil devil costume. It even has a hood. we love it hahaha.
Then we came home and relaxed.  I'm blessed to have the hubby that I do. love you sug.

Trip to Jackson Hole

So the begininning of September, Tan and I wanted to take a trip to Jackson just for fun!  We went with our friends, Brett and Megan, and our dogs.  Our dogs are the same breed- but look a ton different! We had a fun day walking around all the shops, laughing our heads off, rock climbing, talking, and eating. It was fun- and a much needed weekend.

Don and Wally

Well....wow I haven't blogged in forever!  So I'm still working at the dental office 2 days a week which is great- I love it. Tan and I decided we could use a little extra income so the job search began. Of course I've been looking for a dental assisting job since January and haven't had much luck. So I went to the next thing that I enjoy doing: Caregiving. I applied for a job on craigslist and that same day I got a phone call and had an interview.  The lady was super nice and hired me on the spot right after the interview. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into, but it's been great. I take care of 2 old men- Don who is 90 years old, and Wally who is 80. They both are just old and they need help cooking, cleaning, shopping, grooming, and they just need someone to keep them company. They are both very lonely and it's kind of sad! I got hired there the end of August and I'm still there :) I work about 25-30 hours a week so it's a lot still, but Monday Wednesday and Friday I am done by 1 so it's a nice break those days. Anyway- this job has been good. Of course teaching me patience.  Wally will talk my ear off until I pretend I'm asleep or shove battleship in his face :) Don is the sweetest feeble thing to walk this earth- and wouldn't hurt a soul.

We've had some fun times. Some days get hard boring and repetative, but I try to make the best of it and help them not be so lonely! I introduced Wally to pumpkin carving, I introduced Don to Starsky and now he loves him, I decorated Wally's house, and the list goes on. They think I'm so weird- but I want to make things fun for them before they die haha. Here's a few pictures of them and some fun things I've done with them.

So... this is kinda sad but it gets really old hearing Wally talk for 3 hours straight without asking me anything.....hahaha so to solve this issue i decided to bring battleship in hopes that he would like to play. Well...he loves it haha and it helps him shut up for a while! :)
I drove up to Don's house the other day and here he was.....on a forewheeler on a huge mound of dirt...remember he's a 90 year old man :)
Wally wanted to carve a pumpkin that looked like him. So I did the best I could. Whatdya think?! haha
Don was playing around with his phone one day and wanted to make crazy faces.

Oh dear. Wally seriously cracks me up sometimes. I made the mistake of bringing him to the store with me once. He would run into people, he would knock things off the shelves, someone would say 'excuse me,' and he would say 'what did you burp?' haha. I kept telling him he needed to be considerate, etc. but it didn't work. SOOOO that was the last of that :) And look at his face....I died.

I wish that I was a dental assistant full time but that just aint working right now. So for now- I'll take these 2 funny old men :)
